About

Our History

Bembry Professional Services (BPS) is a licensed Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm founded on March 10, 2024.

The firm was established by Benjamin Bembry, CPA, following a career spanning public accounting, government and defense financial management, grants oversight, enterprise risk, and compliance. Throughout his professional experience, Benjamin consistently observed a gap between regulatory expectations and the financial systems, controls, and processes organizations relied upon to meet them.

Prior to founding BPS, Benjamin Bembry built his professional foundation through experience in both public accounting and highly regulated public-sector environments. His background includes time at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Ernst & Young (EY), where he gained exposure to audit, assurance, risk, and large-scale financial operations under strict professional and regulatory standards.

In addition to public accounting, Benjamin’s experience includes work within and in support of organizations such as the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the United States Navy. His career also includes experience with industry-leading private-sector organizations such as Intuit, H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, and Warrior Sports.

Collectively, these experiences provided firsthand exposure to federal financial management, grants compliance, audit and oversight processes, and high-volume accounting and tax operations—shaping the disciplined, compliance-first approach that defines BPS today.

BPS began as a focused accounting and tax practice serving a small but diverse client base, including Alexander Consulting and Training Inc. (ACT) and IP Barbershop. Early services emphasized structured bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance using modern platforms such as QuickBooks and Intuit ProConnect, ensuring accuracy and alignment between accounting records and tax filings.

To support this evolution, Mr. Bembry partnered with seasoned professionals with senior-level experience across the public and private sectors, who now contribute their subject matter knowledge under the BPS ecosystem. These leaders are strategically aligned to support BPS’s mission, governance, and delivery model, collectively bringing decades of experience that strengthen firm standards, quality control, and disciplined execution.

Today, BPS operates as a licensed Virginia CPA firm and a Small Business Administration (SBA)–certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), delivering CPA-led services with a focus on accountability, governance, and defensible outcomes.
